Hampton VA Family Photographer | Buckroe Beach Family Photos

I photographed Chloe, Rob, and their two boys at Buckroe Beach in Hampton, Virginia, for a family session by the Chesapeake Bay. I’ve photographed the Hare family several times over the past six years, including this family session at Libby Hill in Richmond. I have loved watched their boys grow!

For this session, they wanted to head to the beach. We had beautiful 70-degree weather, plenty of wind, and two boys who were ready to climb, play, and eventually get very wet. Outfits for Family Portraits at the Beach

Chloe always dresses everyone stylishly. She wore a fitted, long-sleeve cream dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline and a gold belt. Rob wore a cream short-sleeve button-down shirt with brown pants. The boys wore a brown shirt and shorts, and a cream top with brown striped pants. Everyone went barefoot for the first part of the session.

We started on the rocks, letting the boys climb, move around, and play. I photographed our traditional everyone-looking-at-the-camera photo, then we got into the snuggling and silliness.

Rob cuddled their youngest and lifted him onto his shoulders. I sat Chloe on the sand and piled both boys onto her lap. Then Rob held their oldest upside down over Chloe’s head so he could lean in for a kiss. He thought that was freaking hilarious!

Each parent gave one of the boys a piggyback ride before we took a walk down the beach for our last family photo, with the pier in the distance.

Playful & Fun Family Pictures in Hampton

I always finish my family sessions with photos of just Mom and Dad. Chloe, Rob, and I work so well together that I could give them a little direction and let them take it from there.

They were playful with each other, and we got some beautiful photos of the two of them.

This session was windy, playful, and a little messy. All of us fell in the water at some point! At the very end, the boys stripped down to their underwear and ran into the water, splashing and swimming.
