Moseley Family Photographer | Amber Grove

I met the Sallarulo family at Amber Grove for their fall family session in November. Anahita and Chris had recently moved from Northern Virginia to Midlothian with their daughters, Leila and Stella. Leila was three, and Stella had just turned one. They originally found me through Google and I was so happy they chose me as their as their Moseley family photographer!

Anahita looked through some of the locations I normally photograph but wanted something a little different for her family. She found Amber Grove in Moseley on her own, and I was completely on board. It gave me a new location in Chesterfield County to photograph too!

Anahita paid the rental fee for us to use the property. Since Amber Grove is primarily a wedding venue and usually busy on weekends, we planned their session for a Wednesday evening around golden hour.

Family Photos at Amber Grove in Moseley

I met the family near the front the 1884 Colonial Estate House by the large white wooden fence. We started near a black wrought iron bench and a white wooden structure with the AG initials for Amber Grove at the top.

I brought a light yellow blanket and spread it out on the ground. I had Chris and Anahita sit back-to-back while each held one of the girls on their lap.

Stella wasn’t too sure about me at first and really just wanted to breastfeed. Mama took care of her, and afterward we started getting more smiles from her. Anahita also wanted a few breastfeeding photos, and as her Moseley family photographer, I made sure to capture those for her.

Leila was all smiles. I asked Chris to dance with her, and they danced together to one of the songs from Frozen. We also had Mom and Dad swing Leila while we walked around the property.

Leila loved exploring too. She found some pretty flowers and spent time searching for rocks while we moved around Amber Grove.

Fall Family Pictures Around Amber Grove

From there, we walked past the large century-old dairy barn barn and over toward a smaller wooden barn with a red roof.

We gave the girls some time to run around before putting them together on the yellow blanket.

Chris and Anahita lifted the blanket back and forth with the girls sitting side-by-side, and they giggled like nobody’s business.

We finished near a wooden swing hanging from the trees. Chris held Stella while they went back and forth on the swing. Leila wanted a turn by herself, so I got down low to photograph her face while Anahita stood behind her and pushed.

Since their Amber Grove family session was in November, everyone wore layers that worked really well with the fall colors. Stella wore a romper with a brown knit cardigan, while Leila wore a dark mustard-gold dress. Anahita chose a sage green and white dress with a cardigan. Chris wore brown pants, a cream button-down shirt and a brown vest.

Their colors looked beautiful with the fall scenery and Amber Grove’s famous weeping willow tree behind them.
