Meet Sarah
Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by!
I’m Sarah — a wife, mom of two teenage girls, Army veteran, and the heart behind Sarah Creal Photography.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me checking out a local coffee shop with my Cowboy husband, walking my beagle, watching college football or listening to true crime and self-help podcasts with my girls.
I’m always up for a good laugh, a new tattoo, and a little chaos. And when I need perspective, I come back to 2 Corinthians 4:16–18.

Williamsburg, VA: Historic Places and Real Family Moments
Williamsburg is known for Colonial Williamsburg, the beautiful William & Mary campus, and restaurants that make you want to stay out a little longer. It’s the perfect place to walk with your family, explore the history around you, and find somewhere good to eat afterward. On top of this, communities like New Town and Kingsmill on the James give families different ways to enjoy life here, from walkable shops and restaurants to time near the James River.
The parks in Williamsburg are actually some of my favorite places to shoot. Waller Mill Park, Freedom Park, Williamsburg Botanical Garden and College Landing Park offer wooded trails, water, and space for kids to move. I also love the historic setting around Colonial Williamsburg. Palace Green, Governor’s Palace and the gardens near the George Wythe House give families a beautiful backdrop that feels like Williamsburg.
I can’t talk about Williamsburg without mentioning my favorite places to eat. Amber Ox Public House is my brunch pick for the hickory bacon, Bloody Mary, and apple streusel French toast. Food for Thought has conversation cards on the tables and photos of inventors and philosophers, which makes dinner there so much fun. I also love Fat Canary for its salmon and cocktails, and the happy bar vibe at Second St. Restaurant. If you’re staying overnight, the Fife and Drum Inn is a quaint little spot near Colonial Williamsburg, William & Mary, and Kilwins. I love its hardwood floors and rooms with clawfoot tubs.
Williamsburg is a mix of historic streets, growing families, lively restaurants, and quiet places to enjoy nature. Whether your family wants to explore outdoors or stay home together, your photos can reflect the life you have here. If you’re looking for the perfect spot in nature for your photoshoot, I’m familiar with the area and would love to be your Williamsburg photographer.
PATIENT. PLAYFUL. GENUINE.
Families describe Sarah as endlessly patient, kind, fun, and easy to work with, whether she’s calming a fussy newborn, winning over a shy toddler, or keeping everyone laughing through a little family chaos. Clients love how naturally she connects with children, makes everyone feel comfortable, and keeps sessions moving without expecting kids to sit still and behave perfectly.
Sarah’s photography is full of movement, personality, and genuine connection, with just enough guidance to help everyone look their best. Her editing is vibrant and artful, with careful attention to color, composition, and beautiful light.
Work with Me
Many of the Williamsburg families I photograph come back year after year as their kids grow. Their kids know me, feel comfortable with me, and usually pick up right where we left off.
From maternity and newborn sessions to family photos and birth stories, expect plenty of laughs, gentle guidance, and room for real moments to unfold.
"An experience rooted in grace, guided by connection, and finished with artistry."
Family, Maternity and Newborn Photography for the Williamsburg, VA Area
“I have used Sarah multiple times and have another upcoming session booked for fall family photos. She was incredible with our rowdy 3 year old and so patient with our 2 month old during his newborn session. Not only is she great with kids, but she makes you feel relaxed/comfortable and helps guide you with posing… for those of us who are not naturally comfortable in front of a camera. She manages to capture the most precious moments so they don’t look forced. The hardest part is deciding which photos you want to print to hang in your house. I highly recommend booking a photo session with Sarah!”
