Elizabeth and Dan have a super smart and fun little girl named Persephone. She loves Disney princesses, her doggies, reading, coloring, dancing and now her new little brother, Alexander. We did a lifestyle newborn photography session in their Richmond, Virginia home. Percy is the happiest little girl, and showed how gentle she was with Xander to anyone who would watch her. As their Richmond newborn photographer, I made sure to make friends with Percy and create important rapport so she would buy in to the photo session.
The dress mama is wearing is one from my client closet and is made by Reclamation. It’s one of my favorites and is extremely comfortable for lots of different sized women. There are several things about a home newborn session that can make them beneficial.
1. Lifestyle newborn sessions can be done when the baby is a bit older than posed sessions because they just are focused on holding the baby and natural, relaxed positioning. This also allows more time for your body to heal plus you don’t have to travel anywhere!
2. But don’t fret. You do not need a home that looks like it should be in a Southern Living magazine for a lifestyle newborn photography session. Just some good natural light, simple clothing and a lot of smiles. I will direct you with clothing choices and flattering positions in the light, just like with Xander and his family!
3. Your older children are in their own environment, so they have plenty of options for entertainment and comfort.
And lastly, 4. You have everything of yours you might possibly want for baby with no worries about forgetting anything!
